How to split screen in Android N: Method 1

• Long-press the Overview or multi-tasking button (the square) to bring up your recent apps • Drag the title bar of any app listed here to the left- or right side of the screen to snap it into place

How to split screen in Android N: Method 2

• Launch any app within Android N • Long-press the Overview or multi-tasking button (the square) to bring up your recent apps in one half of the screen • Tap on another app in the other side of the screen to open it in that section of the window • Tap and drag the black bar that separates the two to resize the windows

In using split screen mode in Android N you’ll notice a couple of new features Google has introduced to Android N: there’s a new Clear all button at the top of your recent apps list, and the number of apps shown here has been reduced with it automatically removing those you haven’t used in a while. You can also switch back and forth between your current and last-used app with a double-tap of the recents button.
