The Huawei Mate X2 is the company’s third foldable phone, and the first to bear a whole new design, with more than a little nod to Samsung’s Z Fold. This looks like the best foldable hardware yet – and it’ll also be the first phone in the world to run Huawei’s upcoming HarmonyOS. Samsung has its own software plans though, and announced that from now on new Galaxy phones will receive four years of Android security updates – even better than Google’s Pixel promise. But why is this still so far behind what Apple offers? And finally, Samsung remains a thread today, as we pit January’s S21 series up against the Xiaomi Mi 11. We’ve finally reviewed all four flagship phones, and are ready to settle the score for the best phone of 2021 so far – until Oppo, OnePlus, and more show up to spoil things. Note: thanks to some technical problems, this week’s episode is audio-only.
