The OnePlus 6T is now with us, but the relentless march of technology means that phone is already being overshadowed by the fact that 2019’s OnePlus 7 will be capable of connecting to faster 5G networks. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei spoke at the Qualcomm summit, confirming that “We definitely have 5G planned for next year.” Pei went on to confirm that the company “will be the first, if not one of the first partners with Qualcomm to commercially launch 5G globally” – almost confirming that 5G will be featured in the OnePlus 7 early next year....

The Find X3 Pro launch will stream live on Oppo’s YouTube channel from 11:30am GMT on 11 March, and alongside a confirmation of the top-tier chipset, Oppo also teased that this will be its “first end to end one billion colour smartphone.” The pledge echoes the Chinese firm’s promises at last year’s Oppo Inno Day event, when it claimed that the Find X3 Pro would not only boast the 10-bit colour display seen in last year’s Find X2 Pro, but would support 10-bit colour for images and video for every step from the camera, through encoding and storage, and ending at the screen....

And for the first time with one of Oppo’s foldables, that fight won’t be limited to China, as Oppo has confirmed that the Find N2 Flip will get a launch in Europe in 2023. Bring it on. The baby of the current bunch, the A10, doesn’t have the same design flair or photographic feature-set of its numerically-superior A-series siblings but it still manages to distil down that Galaxy DNA into a sub £140 device. Samsung continues to square off against Apple in the flagship space but it’s the growing number of Chinese brands now present at the budget end of the market that the company needs to watch out for....
